4th of July Monster Cookies with Browned Butter

Soft, chewy monster cookies packed with chocolate chips, white chocolate, peanut butter, oats, and colorful candies, all enhanced with rich browned butter flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup quick oats
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M candies red, white, and blue if desired

Method
 

Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
    Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and fragrant. Cool for 10 minutes.
      Whisk browned butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and peanut butter until smooth.
        Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
          In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and oats.
            Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
              Fold in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and M&M candies.
                Scoop large portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets.
                  Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
                    Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

                      Notes

                      Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. The dough can be refrigerated for up to 48 hours before baking. For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
