Red, White, and Blue 4th of July Trifle

A festive layered trifle made with pound cake, fluffy cream cheese filling, and fresh berries that's perfect for Fourth of July parties and summer gatherings.

Ingredients
  

Cake Base
  • 8 oz pound cake or ladyfingers cut into cubes
Creamy Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Fruit & Garnish
  • 12 oz fresh strawberries sliced
  • 6 oz fresh blueberries
  • Optional fresh raspberries
  • Optional mint leaves

Method
 

Beat the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
    In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
      Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
        Wash, dry, and prepare the berries. Slice the strawberries.
          Place a layer of cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle bowl.
            Add a layer of cream filling followed by a layer of berries.
              Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with cream filling on top.
                Garnish with additional berries and mint leaves. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

                  Notes

                  This dessert can be made up to one day ahead. Fresh berries provide the best texture and appearance. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Leftovers will stay fresh for up to 3 days when covered.
