Red, White & Blue Puppy Chow

Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup red white, and blue M&M candies
  • 2 tablespoons patriotic sprinkles

Method
 

Place cereal in a large mixing bowl.
    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and peanut butter.
      Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
        Stir in vanilla extract.
          Pour mixture over cereal and gently toss until coated.
            Transfer coated cereal to a large bag containing powdered sugar.
              Shake until evenly coated.
                Spread onto a baking sheet and allow to cool completely.
                  Mix in candies and sprinkles.
                    Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

                      Notes

                      Avoid overheating the white chocolate to prevent it from becoming grainy. Store in an airtight container for up to one week. Great for making ahead before parties and gatherings.
